Heading to Perth next week for the WA ASME Summer School. Looking forward to presenting the Keynote

Hi, next Wednesday the 18th I head to Perth to attend and present at the WA ASME Summer School. I'll be talking on several areas, emerging practice in music education and the power of music. I'll also present sessions on Technology and on the effective use of feedback and assessment in music education. Here are the titles of the three sessions. I'm looking forward to sharing in this opportunity with other musicians and educators.

Keynote: The Power of Music Locally, Nationally and Globally. Inspiring hope and new possibilities.

Music plays a pivotal role around the world. It can be studied as a discrete subject, enjoyed as part of individual or ensemble performance, or created via technology and shared instantly. It provides purpose for so many and offers hope for all. Music has the power to engage, learners at all levels. This presentation will share emerging perspectives, research and projects while highlighting the initiatives of ASME on a local and national level.

Workshop 1

Changing worlds, changing practice, changing minds. An exploration of emerging music technology and its use in the classroom.

Workshop 2

Applications of research in teaching and learning. New ideas for the music educator.
